So how much does care cost?
How do you pay?
What if I can’t afford it?
Don’t worry.
All your questions will be answered TODAY!
𝟮 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄…
Care is rarely for free.
The cost depends on your or your loved one’s needs and the level of service you want.
But FIRST…
Take a care needs assessment from your local council to discover the level of care you need.
How do you get one?
Contact the adult social services department of your local council…
Ask for a “care assessment”…
And let them know you need support…
The care assessment is for FREE!
No hidden costs.
Your assessment can be done on the phone or online…
You’ll be asked a series of questions:
Difficulties you’re experiencing.
Your wants and needs.
What’s your next step?
And much more!
Once done.
Your council will then do a “Financial Means Test”
Your income, savings, and the house you live in will be considered for how much the council is willing to contribute.
When it comes to care…
There are different types of care.
I’m only going to list 2.
Residential care.
You or your loved one is looked after in a care home.
Care at home aka Domiciliary care.
If you don’t want to go into a care home this is the best option for you.
You keep your independence.
You get to stay at home with what you’re familiar with.
Easy contact with family.
You make the rules.
